Lemon verbena is cultivated mainly for its oil, it is said to be a powerful herb in rituals of protection and love. Herb has a woody shrub that produces shiny lanceolate green leaves. The leaves emit a strong lemon scent when bruised. Used to add a lemon flavor to fish and poultry dishes, vegetable, marinades, salads, tea or even potpourri.
* Growing Instructions: Planted all year round, remove seedling from the plastic cup. Place in a shallow pot fill it with rich organic soil. Or, dig a shallow hole outside in a lightly-shaded spot, allowing 25cm between plants. Pick plants over regularly and remove any developing flower heads immediately to prevent bolting (running to seed) and to encourage lots of fresh young leaves.
