The “Anna apple” grown in Kenya is the Malus domestica ‘Anna’ cultivar—well‑suited for Kenyan conditions due to its low chilling requirements and early bearing. It yields high-quality fruit and has become a preferred grafted apple variety in Kenya’s high-altitude farming zones. “Ana” is a cross between Golden Delicious and Red Hadassiya.
The fruit tree is upright, medium‑height trees; fruits medium to large with ~30–40 % red blush, crisp, mildly acidic to sweet.
Grafted fruit produces fruit in 9-12 months. Anna apple fruit is abundant, sweet, crunchy, mildly acidic fruit. The “Anna” thrives in tropical climates and offers quick, profitable yields.
