Cypress is highly valued as a source of timber. The white wood saws cleanly and has fine grain; it’s a source of construction wood and pulp wood and is used for furniture, poles and posts. 

Widely used in forestry, hedges and screens, the Cypress are also suitable as windbreaks, providing either shade or shelter as well. It is also grown as a live fence.

They are evergreen and drought resistant. Many consider this the ‘Kenyan Christmas’ tree.
