Calendula officinalis (Pot Marigold)

You will receive a calendula herb seedling in a plastic cup.

Soil: Fertile well drained soil, or gravelled garden
Position: Full sun

One of the main reasons for growing calendula is to harvest the edible leaves, which enhance the flavour of many savoury dishes. Calendula are often cooked in the same pot with spinach, or used to flavor stewed birds. Petals are edible and can be used fresh in salads or dried and used to colour cheese, soup, stews, custard and liquor.

* Growing Instructions: Planted all year round, remove seedling from the plastic cup. Place in a shallow pot fill it with rich organic soil. Or, dig a shallow hole outside in a lightly-shaded spot, allowing 25cm between plants. Pick leaves once they reach about 8cm tall.

* Pick frequently, avoid excessive moisture
